It's so true. This is why I'm often a bit surprised when I meet immigrants from western Europe these days. Like why'd you come? I mean, they're welcome & it's great. But uprooting yourself from everything you know is a big deal. You need to be driven and need to.

Stephen Miller's argument that the U.S. shouldn't take immigrants from "failed societies" overlooks the fact that the failure of other societies is what drives people to seek a better life here. It's what Miller's own ancestors did.

They never run a photo of a billionaire in Central Park, calling out a capitalist for hypocritically enjoying a public park like some kind of commie

I went to all 10 of the daycares Nick Shirley featured in his viral video. I got inside 4 and found children. Lots of children: www.startribune.com/day-care-fra...
We went to some of the day cares Nick Shirley did. Here’s what we found.
Some of the 10 day cares the YouTube content creator blasted for having “no children” invited reporters in to see for themselves.

like 75% of dem messaging right now should be “the party led by epsteins best friend is breaking into pre-k childcare centers so they can record your toddlers and put the videos on internet”
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

It is kind of wild that no big media outlet has busted open the story of who is making DHS' posts on X. Whoever that may be is certainly plugged into hardcore white supremacist internet propaganda with a harder edge. "Groyper" would be underselling it. This is Daily Stormer-tier sludge.

They want to wipe out almost a third of the country. It’s got nothing to do with illegal immigration.

It’s white nationalism pure and simple. They’re fascists, and there’s no reason to doubt it.

When "confused" Trump supporters say "I thought he was just gonna deport the criminals" you need to remember we arent talking about criminals as a legal term. We are talking about criminals as a *social* classification.

either Trump is breaking the law ordering illegal strikes or Trump has reached an undeniable level of cognitive decline

both stories would be headline news above the fold, and yet
Since I first posted on Sunday about Trump's radio spot alleging a land strike on Venezuela, I've gotten a surprising amount of hand waving in response. No matter what the explanation is here, it's important to understand what actually did (or didn't) happen.

Joe Biden did the foreign policy thing everyone said for a decade that they wanted, & they really didn’t, & it destroyed his presidency & the media did this 👇

Trump is literally walking America away from the world, & we don’t see framing like this on CNN & in the Papers of Record

I never again want to hear about how the Republican Party is the party of national security. You don’t incinerate our diplomatic capacity & violate all of our treaty commitments if you care about national security.
Context for Trump withdrawing dozens of ambassadors
*China has invested heavily in expanding diplomacy
*The US has significantly degraded soft power
*The US already has scores of diplomatic vacancies

Mark Cuban is a funny case of getting hit by the lucky stick. He sold his streaming company at the peak of the bubble and the company never amounted to anything in the long run. Bless his heart he made a crap ton of money but he doesn’t have any special insight that the average Joe doesn’t.

The AG is *supposed* to be the people’s lawyer, not the president’s. This is outrageous.

It also indicates Trump feels that he needs protection from Epstein file disclosures.
Axios has learned the White House has begun managing the DOJ's account on X to respond to posts highlighting mentions of Trump in the Epstein files.

In typical administrations, there is a wall between the White House and what is supposed to be an independent Justice Department.
Scoop: Trump administration expects Epstein files release could last another week

An enraging trend right now, from CBS to the CDC, of people actively undermining institutions, then taking the reins of those institutions and claiming they need to rebuild the trust they helped destroy. (Also, people already trusted 60 Minutes.) bsky.app/profile/just...
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."
