Wearing a mask in crowded indoor settings this fall can protect you and others from COVID-19, flu, and RSV, even if you don’t have symptoms. Well-fitting masks, like N95s, KN95s, or KF94s provide the best protection: www.nyc.gov/site/doh/cov...

The man is sleeping during press conferences and meetings. He is going to the hospital and not divulging what's happening. He is continuing to post in unhinged ways. He's 1000% UNFIT to work anywhere. Who would hire an 80 year old man who was displaying this kind of behavior for ANY job at all?

Badenoch and Co see education only as a means to a massive income in some soul destroying career.

Devoid of imagination and the power of knowledge they view life entirely through the prism of the CV.

This may explain why there’s an aggressive response to people who merely post Kirk’s own words. It threatens the existence of the alternate Kirk - the motivational speaker that had been marketed to young kids and white Christian groups through selective quotation & clips.

We basically know what's coming and why. Might as well start planning messaging and concrete responses now. 'Racism tanked the economy. It has materially hurt you. We need immigrants. People who say otherwise can't be trusted and can never be allowed into power again. Period.'
We're about to experience the first modern recession caused substantially, and perhaps primarily, by racism.

Reminds me of my early years in SFF, where you weren't considered "serious" unless you read "the masters." I did this, and yay me but nobody should HAVE to read Dhalgren to be taken seriously 😆. Westerns are dead because it fell out of fashion, not because we didn't read enough James Fenimore Cooper
If SF is forever tied to riffing on what's come before, this reinforces the (imo still very present) idea that we must all be deeply versed in the "greats" of the past rather than enjoying the breadth of the now. Which... if that's what you want for yourself, fine. But it's not necessary for all.
