The one year anniversary of Yoon's failed martial law takeover just passed and lots of untold stories came out proving that THE ONLY REASON KOREA IS STILL A FREE COUNTRY IS BECAUSE PEOPLE DISOBEYED ILLEGAL ORDERS.

The coup was over in hours because people said no.

The recent leopard sighting in my neighbourhood reminds me how hilarious it is that the Marathi word for leopard is "Bibtya"

I can't believe they sullied the poor, innocent diaeresis by using it in in defence of a sex pest like this
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Michael Collins overlooked once again
Let’s be honest: nothing Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin have done in the last 56 years justifies the tremendous cost of bringing them back from the moon. NASA should’ve spared the long-suffering taxpayer and left them up there

I first read Lois Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga more than 10 years ago, I've re-read the whole series multiple times, and I've only just now realised that the title of "The Vor Game" is a pun

Clark Kent's family is Bengali? That actually makes so much sense
Just learned that Clark Kent's parents went by "Ma and Pa Kent" because their full names were "Martha and Partha Kent."

This is the sort of thing 4th C. Roman senators said about paying the foederati in land rather than coin and look how that all ended up
Man you guys gotta be more normal about the one guy on your train not wearing headphones, it's annoying but it's not, like, a decay of society level issue.

I feel like we need a system to represent Indian sounds in the Latin script more accurately, but that doesn't require Indians to change the spellings of their names and therefore <<shudder>> have to revise their ID documents.

The solution, I feel, is diacritics

Churchill Alemão has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever
It is very funny that this Pope is just going to get jerseys from now on. Everyone decided that's what this Pope likes and that is it. It's like if your grandmother got you a puzzle for Christmas one year and you said you liked it so your entire extended family is like "oh that's the puzzle kid"
Spike Lee just blessed Pope Leo with a custom Knicks jersey during his visit to the Vatican, just one week after the Pope was gifted a custom Chicago Bulls one.

Man at chocolate museum pushes on door marked "Pull" and fails to make any headway

Man: "Coming here was a mistake, given that Birmingham, and by extension Cadbury World, is located in the failing formerly-developed country known as 'the UK'".
Noah Smith is paid in the high six-figures to write a blog read by Americans who believe themselves to be intelligent. Yet, he is both unable to read a sign and also for some reason chose to have a 90 minute layover for a flight that takes 90 minutes.
