143 new socially rented and shared ownership homes soon to be finished for Ealing Council, London

Inspired by Victorian Mansion blocks, they’re also designed to meet Passivhaus - so will have very low energy bills

🟥 Brexit promised rule-making.
Delivered rule-taking.
If we’re going to follow EU rules anyway,
why aren’t we helping write them?

This is also a field test.

If the press lets them muddy the waters on executing a woman in Minneapolis despite multiple witnesses and video recordings clearly depicting what happened, the message they'll take away is that there's nothing they can't get away with.

Nothing.

I love the idea that governments have to stay on Twitter because that's where "their audience" is.

Like if you only announced your cabinet reshuffles on Bluesky Harry bloody Cole wouldn't make an account to read about it.

Chatted to my great uncle yesterday – a northern, working-class guy, not that political. I told him my job involved exposing Farage.

His first question was: “who funds him?”

Investigations into Farage’s donors can have a major impact on Reform’s support – as this research has already shown 👇
New research reveals the best attack lines to use against Reform
How to stop Farage...

No one has ever been able to adequately explain what Putin is meant to have thought NATO expansion would threaten him with, apart from limiting his expansionist ambitions.

"He was worried they'd invade Russia."

No he wasn't.

He just wasn't.

That's not a thing anyone thought might happen.
this is the simple answer to people who keep saying NATO expansion matters. Sure, it matters because it presented an obstacle to Russian imperial ambitions. Putin didn't invade because he hated NATO expansion, he hated NATO expansion because he wanted to invade

37% of voters in a rigged electorate in a referendum perverted by hate, lies, and foreign interference - a referendum that would have been annulled because of law-breaking had it been mandatory, which the Brexiters loudly and falsely declared it was. Brexit was won by the massive abuse of democracy.

We can be reaudited for up to 7 years for tax, why does Farage get away with a year for criminal activity?

HURRAH! Petitions are crap at making gov'ts do things they don't want to. But they are good for two things: First, making them explain why they won't do something, but second (and more important) nudging/giving them permission to do something they DO want, but that's been crowded out bandwidth-wise.

No surprise: new analysis shows that heat pumps can deliver excellent performance even in older buildings with no meaningful correlation between building age & heat pump efficiency.

This is in line with my own experience of having a heat pump in a 1880 Victorian home with only modest insulation.

I can’t help thinking that when, in future, people ask what UK political leaders said as it became undeniable that US saw European liberal democracy as its no1 strategic foe, Starmer and others will regret that the answer is “not much, shuffled awkwardly, looked at their feet”.

Another depressingly tone-deaf performance by Badenoch at #PMQs. Our continent is threatened from East and West, and Kemi wants to talk Westminster gossip. Rarely have I seen anyone as witless, be so pleased with themselves. Truss springs to mind. Johnson. Cameron.

WAIT - I think I see a pattern.
