Me and mine like to desecrate classical (read: royalty-free) plays in bar readings. Dildo props, inebriated actors, you get the idea.

We perform at a bar around Capitol Hill, so we, uh, decided on a theme for this year. Our leadoff play is as close to President's Day as we could get it.

U.S. fury at the ICC for daring accuse Israeli politicians of things they essentially admitted to is really unhinged
Thinking about extricating yourself from Big Tech?

A Canadian judge at the International Criminal Court, arrived at her home in The Hague and called out “Alexa”.

“Alexa was dead. She wouldn’t talk to me.”

ICC judges have been forcibly removed from most digital services, credit cards, and banks.
‘It’s surreal’: US sanctions lock International Criminal Court judge out of daily life
Canadian judge Kimberly Prost is unable to use credit cards, transfer money or book everyday services in what she calls an attack on the independence of the judiciary

Lotta people manifesting “it” today…

I remember when a friends bf hit her and a bunch of her friends were manifesting and that SOB was working on apartment carports when they collapsed under snow weight and killed him.

Just saying.

The one nice thing to happen this weekend was "rehearsal" for our yearly Carol in the Barrel. We're ruining Dickens this Friday night starting at 7:30, at Barrel in Eastern Market. It'll be a hoot and a half.

Producer duty is turning into a live foley exercise. I need to get some portable speakers.

because the New York Times is a right-wing newspaper that skates by under cover of its liberal arts and culture sections
If you look at how, where and when the NYT deliberately obscures facts that are known to the author but would undercut the thrust of an “objective” story (in this case trying to make a college dropout appear to be a graduate) you’ll notice that’s always in service of the conservative agenda
This NYT story failed the reader by not digging deeper. One subject dropped out of college after one year (five years ago) and lists "Windows" as his skillset. Story should be: young conservatives who blame immigrants for their personal failures and whose lives won't be improved w/ fewer immigrants

Just in case any journalist or editor reading this is tempted to minimize Trump's Reiner post because it's a "showbiz thing" and "real" stories are happening: No. It's a President thing and a decency thing, and if you don't understand that those things are newsworthy, you are failing in your duties.

Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who tackled one of the Bondi killers, became an Australian citizen 3 years ago.

His deed was "his way of conveying his gratitude for staying in Australia, for being granted citizenship."

He took 5 bullets, and fears he'll lose his left arm.

An Anti-Defamation League that actually believed in its stated mission would savage Trump for his comments about Rob Reiner and his wife, but they are too busy trying to find out whether an Oberlin student said something critical of Israel.

I'm not even going to repost a screengrab of his post about Rob Reiner but man it really needs to be said every single day: Trump truly is the biggest piece of shit in the world, a man of absolutely no good qualities and seemingly limitless bad ones. Support for him is just so damning.

The silver lining to all this is that it’s a straightforward demonstration of what happens when you let reactionary freaks take control of your popular art. They got *everything* they asked for and it resulted in an incoherent disaster that put a franchise worth billions in a terrible position

TRoS was such a brazen act of artistic vandalism, a straightforward signal that “oops, movies that expensive aren’t supposed to mean anything!” that the existence of Andor feels like a quiet apology. It might literally be that, given how fiercely Kathleen Kennedy protected it from interference.

You're walking home from the gym when you're stopped by FBI officers in an unmarked car. They handcuff you, even though you tell them you're a US citizen.

Then, they scan your face.

How a US Citizen Was Scanned With ICE's Facial Recognition Tech
Jesus Gutiérrez told immigration agents he was a U.S. citizen. Only after they scanned his face, did the agents let him go.
