Democrats, whimpering: i-I-I don’t think we can get rid of ICE

Republican, groping a child: Say goodbye to the Department of Education!

I think its a good point. Essentially, if the bureaucracy isn't filled with people who think like us, it will be be filled with people who do not think like us. The bureaucracy will not go away just because we refuse to inhabit it, and it will be used against us if we do not inhabit it.

Not only abolish ICE, but release the roster of agents to the public. They must be held accountable for what they've done and what they're going to do

babe wake up, they're doing insider trading on war crimes
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Just finished "The Road To Unfreedom" by Timothy Snyder (2018) and highly recommend it to anyone keeping an eye on either the war in Ukraine and/or the state of politics here and in the European Union.

Lets *DE-sensationalize* this 💩SCOOP:

A *$9 billion* "loss" divided among *324+ million* people in the USA comes out to about *$26* per person/year.

This is the only part of govt we describe as operating "at a loss" - we don't say that about, say, the military.

I don't trust WaPo on Amazon stuff.
🚨SCOOP: Amazon is preparing to sever ties with USPS and expand its shipping network as a true coast-to-coast rival.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

USPS posted a *$9 billion* loss in 2025.
Amazon explores cutting ties with USPS, building its own delivery network
Amazon looks into expanding its nationwide delivery network and giving up its longstanding partnership with the U.S. Postal Service.

“You are not entitled to a response from us, or anyone, ever,” is what a US Education Department spokesperson wrote to one of our reporters, @megomatz.bsky.social, after she repeatedly tried to get comment from the department and its officials. My column on the condemnation of good journalism.
Our Reporters Reached Out for Comment. They Were Accused of Stalking and Intimidation.
Our journalists reach out to people they’re writing about to ensure fairness. But in this environment, they’ve found their efforts to do so are more likely to be vilified than appreciated.

As I'm bombarded with algorithmically served advertisements aimed to induce me to purchase more consumer goods this holiday season, I am reflecting on this essay I wrote six years ago for @proteanmag.com

Simulacra & Self-Simulation
by Steven Monacelli. If we are what we repeatedly do, then let’s face it: we are becoming increasingly machine-like through our near-constant interactions with technology.

ICE chuds kidnapped a father and stole food meant for his family. These people must be held accountable. Document EVERYTHING.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Morning thoughts: class mobility

I've long said the American economy is mostly a grift on the poor & working-class. The most surefire way to get rich in America is to come up with a grift to further exploit the poor, for which you will be funded by the wealthy and allowed to ascend into their class
