By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. As a guy who has to run a media company, the web has wholly balkanized and the places people get their information are YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, then everywhere else. Text-based social networks have been split up into hegemonic forums. Threads has faux scale, X has ragebait, Bluesky has jokes.

the part i liked most about The Legend of Zelda was how it's just strategic battles and exploration

every company supporting genAI is basically saying copyright infringment is okay, as long as it's them doing it. at this point there is no moral argument against piracy, and in 2026 we're probably going to see some interesting rulings from judges on that matter in america.

It's a sad twist of statistics that despite the fact it's a certainty that each billionaire and oligarch will be pulled down and torn apart within moments of the final collapse of society, it's actually very unlikely that any given individual will be present to witness one if these events.
