Mass exit of American scientists is going to reshape the world and erode the power that the United States has.
We polled Nature readers to ask if they were thinking of leaving the US for jobs abroad. Three-quarters of them (who said they were US-based scientists) said yes. 🧪

75% of US scientists who answered Nature poll consider leaving
More than 1,600 readers answered our poll; many said they were looking for jobs in Europe and Canada.

Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Two months into the Trump administration, there’s a sweeping shift underway in Washington as federal workers — and some high-level administration officials — migrate their correspondence to Signal in a zeal for secrecy.
Why government workers and military planners all love Signal now

This is the end of democracy. This.
🚨BREAKING: It seems very clear that the Administration decided not to abide by the court's order. The question now is what will the judge do. Does he proceed with contempt or something short of that to defuse.

Upping the stakes is the fact that the AG and her senior staff signed this notice.

Ignoring a court order on the grounds that “ah-ah-ah, the law doesn’t apply once you get to international waters!!” is absolutely sanctionable. 8th grade-ass lawyering. Completely unserious.

We all need to pay attention to this case.

Checks and balances, a foundation of how our government works, is at play here.

The court order was clear. The WH made the “interpretation” that the court didn’t have the authority to decide.

If you are a U.S. citizen, the Safe Third Country agreement doesn't apply to you. It applies to people seeking asylum who are neither a citizen of the U.S. nor of Canada.

“You are a traitor.”

An absurd and insulting thing to say to anyone who posts what Senator Kelly did.

And even more insulting since he served as a U.S. Navy captain and a NASA astronaut.

Kelly was a combat pilot and flew 39 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm in the Gulf War.
