New: Recordings from private autism conferences show Trump HHS pick Robert F. Kennedy Jr. vilifying & conspiracy theorizing about agencies he's set to lead. Videos show RFK Jr comparing CDC vaccine programs to "Nazi death camps" & calling for researchers to be jailed. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...
RFK Jr. attacked the CDC’s ‘fascism’ and likened vaccinating children to abuse by the Catholic Church
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Donald Trump’s pick for Health and Human Services secretary, also argued for jailing vaccine scientists in previously unreported comments at autism conferences.

I believe in redemption and forgiveness and charity and understanding but I haven’t quite let go of the fact that the people who believed that were really fucking stupid.
This is exactly right. Elon fooled lots of people into thinking that his acquisition of Twitter was about protecting free speech—it was always about reengineering a public square into a reactionary echo chamber. Which is why he’s flirting with running the same play again with MSNBC.

We got a million stories like this during the first Trump Admin, anonymous quotes from GOP electeds expressing "concerns" about his actions and "weighing" whether they could vote for his agenda.

It's access journalism at its worst. In the end they supported everything.
Republican senators are poised to decide whether Robert F. Kennedy Jr. becomes the nation’s next health secretary. But in interviews this week, a half-dozen GOP lawmakers said they had questions or outright concerns about his nomination.

Republicans did not rule out voting for Trump’s pick to run HHS, and several said they were excited about the former Democrat’s ideas.

Mitt Romney saying on Meet the Press that Trump probably wouldn’t illegally stay in office beyond another four years simply because Trump “will have finished his retribution after four years” seems to fundamentally misunderstand the history of authoritarian movements.

The “Deep State,” as Trump and MAGA use the term, primarily refers to rule of law and loyalty to the Constitution. It’s their label for people in govt who do their job, rather than break laws and regs to help Trump.
But as this piece notes, authoritarian plans ultimately contradict with small govt.
First up, though, my latest at Law Dork looks at how Trump’s attack plan for the “deep state” in a second term would build on but eventually conflict with conservatives’ project to diminish (dismantle?) the administrative state.
On Trump's "deep state" attack plans and where they would lead in a second term
The conservative legal movement has long sought to rein in the administrative state. Trump's "deep state" attack plans build on that — but also would eventually conflict with it.

It’s actually ok not to speak on matters you don’t have a lot of knowledge about.

It’s actually… a sign of humility and wisdom to do that.

And as a bonus, you don’t inadvertently show your ass in public!
