JD Vance's career was financed by Peter Thiel, an immigrant, and one of Trump's biggest fundraisers was his AI czar, David Sacks, also an immigrant. Trump's Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-Deremer is the daughter of an immigrant, and his Secretary of State Rubio is also the son of immigrants.

It’s pretty wild that the most rabidly anti-immigrant administration in recent memory is comprised of a President married to an immigrant, a VP married to the daughter of immigrants, an assistant AG in charge of Civil Rights who’s an immigrant (Dhillon), & it was all funded by an immigrant (Musk).

MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

Margaret Atwood was right: “I didn’t put anything into the book that had not already happened in real life.”

In a nation with no official religion, state power is once again wrapped in religious symbolism ... bright, public, and unmistakable.

Trump is hurtling us toward a completely unnecessary war with Venezuela without congressional approval because his polling numbers are at historic lows, and he's decided the lives of young women and men in our military are justifiable collateral as a PR strategy.

This story should be on every news outlet from now until the case is over and it's not because it's a month old and this is the first I'm hearing of it.
ICE pepper-sprayed this 1-year-old girl.

Once at the hospital, the doctor had to call in a poison control specialist.

They had never seen anyone that young pepper sprayed.

Another horrific story.

Lots of people are going to die.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

This is why this surrender isn't just about this narrow issue but is rather the whole constitutional ballgame:

Democrats are affirmatively signaling they do not want political power at the same time Trump is transitioning the political system into an autocratic one wherein they're denied it forever
Not that he didn’t already know, but now Trump knows for sure he can roll the Dems every time and there’s no need to negotiate for anything
