it is the same playbook everywhere. “vote for us! we will make you great again by punishing the people you hate! do not pay attention to the fact that we’re also shoveling your money into the pockets of the uber wealthy and building a giant boot to step on your face too (preferably forever)”
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

it’s about to get weird
Holy shit, there's an open carry #2A protest of ICE happening in Douglas County Colorado -- a very wealthy and very red suburb county of Denver. (I lived there for 16 years.) The Trump Administration pissing off committed gun owners sufficiently for them to join the protests against ICE is wild.

These tools, reportedly deployed across Minneapolis, were not created in America, but in Israel... the citizens of Minnesota have, as American taxpayers, subsidized an occupation overseas that is effectively a laboratory for their own.

NEW: State election officials are condemning Attorney General Pam Bondi for blackmailing Minnesota by suggesting the administration would withdraw ICE if the state hands over its unredacted voter data.

An expert said the proposal is “laying the groundwork to try to interfere with the election.”
‘All-out assault on our democracy:’ Bondi’s Minnesota blackmail letter draws righteous fury from state election leaders
“This isn't leadership. This is blackmail," Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said. "This is the way organized crime works."

Other folks have already noted much of this, but I think the MAGA 'theory of victory' here is:
1) DHS provocations trigger a riot or attack on agents which
2) Leads to widespread civil unrest in many 'blue' cities so that
3) Trump can invoke the insurrection act and send in the troops...
Curious if anyone has a plausible theory of victory for the administration if it were to invoke the Insurrection Act.

How does the administration "win" in such a scenario?

Best I can tell, it is magical thinking by a certain somebody at the White House, but maybe I'm missing something.

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

We have reached the point where a judge literally has to order federal law enforcement officials not to destroy or mess with evidence from a homicide scene.
BREAKING: Judge Tostrud -- a Trump appointee — has quickly granted a restraining order, barring the administration from "destroying or altering evidence" taken from today's shooting. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

The ICE detention budget is larger than the total budget for USAID used to be. The ICE detention budget increase is larger than cuts in education or for SNAP in the BBB. It is larger than cuts to NIH, CDC and cancer research combined.

I think much of the tech right’s turn to eugenics can be explained by their psychic refusal to accept that their massive wealth is the product of historical luck (being in SV at a time when investment money was cheap & abundant) and an insistence that it was instead a product of inherent supremacy.
That Peter Thiel is pretty dumb shouldn't be surprising. No reason to think someone who got rich basically being lucky (right place, right time) during early tech boom and then exploiting IRA tax loopholes should have anything intelligent to say about politics, philosophy, or anything else.

East Africa has been playing the long game and I for one think it's beautiful
Like Barack Obama Sr. got axed because he was too close to Tom Mboya and got on Jomo Kenyatta's bad side and Kamala's granddad was hanging out with Kenneth Kaunda. We're all living in Season 64 of anti-colonial nationalist East Africa Game of Thrones.
If I had a nickel for every 21st century presidential candidate with close family members who served as highly educated bureaucrats in early post-colonial 1960s East African governments, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice
