I urge everyone who is understandably disturbed by the petition news to consider how very unlikely it is for the Court to even take this up, much less reverse Obergefell. Unlike abortion, marriage opponents don’t have the same social movement that anti-abortion forces did, which was core to the GOP.
Obergefell v. Hodges made me believe in the whole "arc of history bends towards justice." In the 90s, I didn't think gay marriage would be legalized in my lifetime because homophobia was so deeply ingrained. We would have never gotten here without the decision and now it may be overturned.

Gonna have a bit more of a rant about the 'there's just so many damn trans women online!' thing.
I think people mistake this for some sort of systemic privilege; that we are being lifted up comparative to our peers because we are more acceptable within the public eye.

Tried to have a dramatic duel in VtR and people just kept rolling successes on frenzy checks down to chance dice and then one pc made it to the scene and fully just walks over to start poking at someone’s wounds, which flummoxed the ‘tragic suicidal enemy’ vampire fully into just talking things out

I can't emphasize enough how much your direct action, calling these processors every day, has forced these statements and the news coverage to happen. It's so important that we keep going. We have been shown they can bleed so be like sharks. Keep up the pressure and more things will start cracking.

“Don’t call because it won’t work” => MasterCard and Visa both have started saying things to get people to STOP calling. Whether “we escalated and are expecting a policy update” or “here is a boilerplate statement we read to our callers”

I told my wife to post more which now I think it is probably a truly terrible idea for her but I do just think she has endless cool and smart things to say and I’m real bad at sharing them with people on her behalf.
