Every major free speech org has said the IHRA definition suppresses constitutionally protected speech. Every major human rights group has said it suppresses legitimate advocacy. The scandal is that Adams adopted the definition, not that Mamdani rejected it. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/04/n...

Unless you are a member of the Jewish community you can’t possibly understand how big this is.

Many of us felt absolutely hopeless about this for a long time.

A LOT of hard work went into changing these hearts and minds.

“Film things you see happening…Be loud for America” is quite the rallying cry.
Illinois Gov. Pritzker ahead of Trump National Guard deployment:

"To Chicagoans... Look out for your communities and your neighbours. Know your rights. Film things that you see happening... Authoritarians thrive on your silence. Be loud for America."

We have concentration camps in America and it still has not truly hit public consciousness or the level of discussion we see around other subjects.

This is how these things become normalized. We simply cannot let ourselves become desensitized, we *have* to keep pushing the discussion.

I would also say that the state of Israel’s decades-long insistence that they both represent all jews and any criticism, including clearly legitimate criticism, of their actions equals antisemitism has only served to endanger jews around the world.
31. An increasing number of Democrats – including a majority of young Democrats and many young Jews – recognize that protecting Jewish safety in the U.S. has no connection with supporting the state of Israel. Antisemitism and opposition to Israel are viewed as two completely separate issues.

We are supposed to sanctify life, not borders, not violent political institutions

How can you even eat chips with utensils. A ladle? Tongs?

You hear this a lot on the left but it isn't true. USAID did not "fail to tell its story to Americans," the right targeted the agency with lies and misinformation.

Ultimately this narrative turns conservative attacks into even more calls for the left to reform.

Ok that’s it this is a concerted group effort there is no denying it. The Dem establishment got together in a back room and said “how are we gonna stop this man from making change in the party he is too dangerously progressive and popular.”

And then they all agreed “use the Jews.”
Democratic congressman Eric Swalwell says of Zohran Mamdani: "I don't associate myself with what he has said about the Jewish people."

Because zohran being Muslim and therefore responsible for all anti semitism is Islamophobic. He has repeatedly denounced anti semitism and his faith keeps getting attacked over and over again.

It should go without saying but historically people who propose denaturalization are not, as my grandfather would say, good for the Jews
This is a shockingly racist call by a House Republican for Zohran Mamdani to be denaturalized and deported. But instead of being viewed as unserious, it's now being promoted and circulated by LibsOfTikTok, Benny Johnson and MAGA regulars.

Democrats need to understand that Republicans are serious.

And as a Jewish person, I don't want incidents like today in Boulder or two weeks ago in D.C. used as justification for preemptive clampdowns on those protesting peacefully for Palestinians. It all just needs to stop.
I don't want to see a single person saying this was warranted by the carnage in Gaza, that this was for Palestinians.

I am a Palestinian person and I do not want senseless acts of terror committed in my name. I don't want Jewish organizations to need extra security because of fear of violence.

Thread of the day. Future gens - if in a free society - will wonder why we let Nazi-curious enthusiasts define antisemitism, grossly trivialize it to crush opposition to Israel’s genocide in Gaza and then weaponize it to destroy our rights. My fellow Jews who support this are cutting our throats.
This is unbridled chauvinistic Christian zionist zealotry from the Heritage Foundation. It is Constitutionally blasphemous, basically blowing up the First Amendment and disappearing the establishment clause in pursuit of the segregationist authoritarian Gilead of Paul Weyrich's dreams.
This is a must-read: The Trump administration's use of anti-semitism to attack immigrants and higher education mirrors plans by a group of Christian nationalists in the Heritage Foundation (which produced Project 2025). 🧵

It's important to realize that these folks (and there are many) genuinely do not think Jews who criticize Israel are Jewish.

This translates into how they think about antisemitism, solidarity, etc. If you don't think someone is Jewish, you also don't think they can be targets of antisemitism.
