Not doing Black Friday because I'm against the creeping Americanisation of Irish life and can't afford to as a small artist, but WILL be doing Vengeful Hag Friday where for every piece of art you purchase from www.ciaraioch.com/artprints I will fervently wish bad cess to your enemies

If you've not listened to @sturdyalex.bsky.social's amazing @alexpodyssey.bsky.social series, then what have you been doing?

Meticulously researched, full of amazing details & intricate tidbits about the Greek myths & legends many people grew up learning about.

This bonus episode is amazing too!
What was meant to be a short, fun, bonus little episode, ended up - yes, short and fun - but also one of the most interesting topics, deepest dives, and interconnected mazes I have navigated.

One of my favourite episodes so far, I think.
BRAND NEW 🍏 How Do You Like Them Apples? 🍎

From the Garden of Hesperides to the Garden of Eden, from the Atalanta and the Trojan War to The Beatles and the iPhone, apples are laden with often conflicting symbolism.

REVEALED: Willow trees on Dartmoor common owned by Prince William deliberately poisoned with herbicide

This is an outrageous act of sabotage. Dartmoor’s commons are virtually treeless already, due to centuries of overgrazing by sheep. The culprit must be found:

Really thrilled to have an advance copy of HOMESICK FOR A WORLD UNKNOWN, a biography of one of our most important and iconic field biologists and environmentalists, George Schaller. He never seemed to have much use for the limelight, so a little underrated and hopefully this book will help. 1/2

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

Audience culture is the worst it's ever been, I swear to god. People forgot how to act. I'm at the theater, trying to enjoy my show, which I've paid GOOD MONEY for, and these two old assholes are in the balcony heckling the life out of the poor bear onstage. Not letting him finish a single joke.

What's frustrating about #Budget2025 is the wasted year.

Labour could have scrapped the two-child limit, cut energy bills and done a freeze on rail fares in last year's Budget.

Instead they tried to target pensioners and disabled people, and were forced into embarassing u-turns and lost goodwill.

the bbc changed their article from saying 'trans woman' to saying 'biological male who identifies as a woman'.

even if you don't care about trans ppl it should alarm you just how captured the bbc has become.

they will no longer even say 'trans woman'. that's not normal and shows massive bias.

The EPA will approve two new pesticides containing “forever chemicals” and relax a reporting rule for companies who make products with forever chemicals.

The moves come after a $60 million lobbying blitz from the forever chemical industry.

Where is the MAHA outcry?

But the economy is great right? Nothing to see here!

Boris Johnson took 4 days off as NHS warned Covid could ‘overwhelm’ system

Thousands died.

Spent time walking his dog, riding motorcycle, hosting lunches/dinners.

He once said Covid was ‘nature’s way of dealing with old people’, ‘we should let the old people get it’.

Will he be held to account,?
