I'm a web developer but I make Godot games on the side.

I hope to one day create a cooperative game studio/tech company.

Follow me if you're interested in Godot and how to make the world a better place.
So excited for IK to be in a better state!

This will be huge for better VR player bodies and active ragdolls!
GodotFest is now behind us, leaving a Godot-sized void in our hearts

Let's rectify that with a development snapshot: #GodotEngine 4.6-dev4 is now live! 🎉

This is a must read regardless of whether you use Godot or VR. Zi is too humble, this is a masterclass in making a trailer for your game.
Making Penguin Festival's VR gameplay trailer was really challenging, but also fun and rewarding. Here's a little postmortem for my own posterity but also in case anyone else finds it helpful!

People who were upset that the Steam Frame didn't have micro OLED panels, 140 FOV, color pass through, full mixed reality, hand tracking, and be cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro or Samsung Galaxy must be living in alternate reality.

I do wish it had finger tracking and gesture controls tho.

With VR desktops becoming more popular with stuff like the steam frame does anyone think we'll start seeing VR accessibility for common game development apps?

I know Godot has been making good progress on that front but it'd be great to also see Blender be more intuitive to use in VR.

Awesome to see the OpenXR API being supported in Godot and Khronos helping to make that possible!

I already have devices to make games on, but seeing Godot as an official part of Steam's new hardware video made me happy and pretty excited for both Godot and the Steam Machine itself.

NEW: Valve is bringing Android apps to Steam. Not only can the Frame run side-loaded Android APKs, Valve will be inviting Android devs into its store.

Imagine what this means re: Google forced to crack open Android. Also: Meta Quest games are low-hanging fruit!

It pains me that there is an entire generation of people who have now grown up trained to view manipulative, engagement-farming gambling games as the norm for video games.

There are countless people who have formative, nostalgic memories of opening loot boxes and the excitement of gacha ten-pulls

Many freelancers in the United States rely on ACA marketplace plans for their health insurance. In an industry that has already been working overtime to turn gamedevs into gig workers, freelance and contract devs are about to get even more squeezed. This is unacceptable.

I think of all the founding fathers Thomas Paine was the most based.

He argued that since the earth was shared by all humankind before private property, that holders of private property owe a debt to society that should be repaid in taxes and those taxes should go towards UBI and social programs.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

People who think we're on the verge of all tech workers losing their jobs to AI are putting too much stock into rich people who need the AI bubble to keep on going.

The sooner people stop buying into this crap the sooner it'll burst.
The gaming equivalent of an extremely drunk person telling you a story.
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.
