Ask me about Hotel Del Luna, I want everyone to watch it. :) I like cats, art, info about early years education and neurodivergence. And Hotel Del Luna. If I follow you I don't expect you do it back, don't feel like you have to. :)

This movie is so solid and the storyboards are incredible! Highly recommend “reading” it after a viewing.

Yeah, so, my city put in separated bike lanes in my EXTREMELY traffic-busy area.

Those lanes are AMAZING. You feel super-safe riding in them even during rush hour. They're heavily-used in summer by everyone. They're heavily-used all year by food-delivery folks. YES, if you build it, they will come.

“When streets became calmer & safer, more people felt comfortable trying a bike commute for the first time. Families began pedaling to the park…Local businesses saw new life…And cycling stopped feeling like a niche activity—it became part of everyday Parisian life.”

And we've already seen the transformative impacts of eliminating the fare when we won and implemented a historic fare free bus pilot on one line in each borough.

Ridership went up. Assaults on operators went down. And people saved money.

I did it even before I moved here.

But I struggled with queueing and now I'm decent at it.

Just openly cheering the destruction of any representation of gay people in public space. They think their power is totally unrestricted, and the entire country will support them rolling back society to the 1950s, or maybe the 1850s

We have a clay-plastered straw bale wall with insufficient splash zone and inadequate roof overhang on campus as an architectural test object for >15 years.
While this is quite interesting initially to learn what works and what doesn't, it is not particularly smart the rest of the time. Read books!
Darker spots on the footing indicate wet parts from rain splash. In Summer this is unproblematic but in winter freeze thaw cycles it's going to cause cracks and failing plaster.

Fun fact is that the straw bales under the plaster are still in good condition.

At first the Discord hack didn’t seem that bad because it was initially the third party help desk.

But then you find out they had got there age verification data. Come to find out they got 1.5 TB of government id and age verification data. This is going to become a case against age verification.

I'm guessing they think the different names might make plant based alternatives less attractive, but I have to keep reassuring my son that I'm making vegetable meatballs (even though the Italian name doesn't include meat) because he doesn't want to eat meat. He helped us change.

Spent five years in Paris, left 15 or so years ago. The photographs Brent posts of Paris are astonishing and hopeful.

Gritty, grey side streets for cars are now green and lively with people. Bicycle lanes on rue de Rivoli?? The only time I saw bicycles on it was the finish of the Tour de France.

If you're looking for a meat burger surely you'll check what's it made of regardless? Chicken and beef (and venison) burgers exist, you'd surely make sure you're buying the one you want?
teresasm.bsky.social
I understand your point but having grown up eating meat I like that there are patties and sausages, they're convenient to slot into my shopping.

Also Beyond burgers are much nicer than meat ones IMO.
teresasm.bsky.social
Hamburgers are called that because of the city of Hamburg. The association for now is strongly with meat but, given enough time, that could change. Sausage from the vulgar latin 'salsicia', seasoned with salt.

All alternatives have plant based or similar on the label. Non-issue.
