An essential development over the past decade-plus is that the ignorant went from feeling chastened when their ignorance was revealed to banding together and deciding that, actually, they were right. They might disagree at times, but they agreed that ignorance itself was an indicator of trust.

I honestly hoped that Disney would sue the generative AI companies into oblivion, but of course they prefer to make a load of crap cheaply and that's more profitable.
Disney says that it will "thoughtfully and responsibly extend" its storytelling through generative AI use with a $1 billion deal in OpenAI that will license 200 of its characters including Mickey Mouse, Luke Skywalker, Captain America and Elsa. https://bit.ly/4s6IGL8
