Happy to share that my PhD has finally taken the shape of a paper! ✨

Huge thanks to all authors, especially @davidbrueckner.bsky.social & @ehannezo.bsky.social for leading the modeling and @raimonsunyer.bsky.social & @xaviertrepat.bsky.social for their invaluable supervision.

How do cells navigate up gradients of adhesive proteins?
🤔

Termed "Haptotaxis", this effect is ubiquitous in cell migration, but it's mechanism was poorly understood

We show that passive friction directs cells & explains complex trajectories on gradients

MSc student Sylvia and honours project student Jess Osborn recently completed their projects in the lab. And this time last year, we said farewell to MSc student Yue Li and honours project student (and then intern) Isobel Gall.

Wishing you every success in your next steps 👏

Had a chat with @ajbrenes.com at #BSPR2025 about data reuse, and how some datasets, once combined and reused for a new biological question, are absolute gold. It's always worth depositing your data. 💿

Here are the statistics of his #HipSci dataset, which has remained at 2% after 6 years. 📈
