Where does $757m disappear?

From Māori futures
From our mokopuna
From our whenua
From the roof over whānau heads
From the hands of every kaiako fighting for our kids

You can’t cut your way to justice
You can’t fix inequity with a sledgehammer

Every cut is a choice & we know who you chose

#NZPol Honestly they don't even deserve "I'm sorry you were offended"
OPINION: I’m sorry that politicians and the media spent last week focusing on my potty mouth and not the terrible injustice that is being done to care-workers, nurses, teachers and other underpaid women, Andrea Vance writes.
I said what I said. And I’m sorry... sort of
OPINION: Choreographed fragility and weaponised offence from female MPs over my use of a rude word has served as a distraction from their own actions.

The NZ govt is comfortable privatising Health because it campaigned extensively on this and was elected with an overwhelming majority... oh... what's that you say... it's a coalition scraped together by desperate right-wing incompetents...ecconomic vandals and anti haka-snowflakes. #nzpol

Hey is anyone else really angry that Simeon Brown hid the SIGNIFICANT risks of outsourcing to private hospitals from the public? Why this is not plastered all over news outlet is beyond me - Stuff could easily find "clicks" if they wanted to.

Simeon Brown was told of serious risks in outsourcing surgeries to private hospitals, but his office withheld most of the information.

Denying working women equitable wages is, in fact, a very cunty thing to do.

The pay equity amendment legislation looks like, sounds like, and reads like a very anti-women, anti-feminist bill. It's very cunty and so are its architects and supporters.

To be fair, I'm glad van Velden is on the Parliamentary record with her disdain for "gendered and patronising language". I do hope she will take a point of order to remind her colleagues when they refer to Opposition MPs as "silly little girls" with "hysterical grievances" etc. #nzpol
TBH, I don't give a rat's arsehole how many times Brooke van Velden sullies her lying hypocritical lips by saying "cunt".

I'm more offended by the gall of this trash pretending she cares about the safety & dignity of women while voting to degrade them. #nzpol

Something I want us to reeeeeeeeeally think about on the left in Aotearoa is how happily the right throw out legislation that had bipartisan support when it suits them. On climate, on equal pay, on housing. Maybe we don't need to moderate and minimise our best policies in pursuit of fake consensus.
