I continue to encounter people who are too exhausted, apathetic, and/or distracted to be curious about much of anything.

Combined with the increasing dearth of critical thought in our culture... I'm pessimistic.

But I remain curious.

Tech/AI lobby in California dilutes data center water-use regulation:

"Newsom echoed the industry’s competitiveness worries in his veto message [...] He said he was reluctant to impose requirements “without understanding the impact on businesses and the consumers of their technology.”

I wasn't aware Jon Stewart was still relevant.
Wrote about how disappointing it is that Jon Stewart punched down on people masking at @motherjones.com, when people should mind their own business and leave mask wearers be. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

The blame for tonight's Warriors loss can be laid at the feet of Draymond Green, and his continuing inability to avoid throwing the ball to the other team.

Too bad Dillon Brooks didn't get kicked out for his bush-league bullshit.

Pedant peeve: people claiming something is "quite literally" something.

Example: "The National Center for Atmospheric Research is quite literally our global mothership."

It's as though the misuse of "literally" as an intensifier can be further intensified by preceding it with an intensifier.
