I have a long held belief that conservatives cannot understand narrative and have no ability to deconstruct story whatsoever. It’s like some kind of universal comprehension barrier that they all share. Talking to them about literally any piece of media is actually a stunning experience.
Just saw a bad "anti-woke" take recommending that people watch the expanse, and let me just say, if you think the expanse ain't "woke" then all that tells me is that you deeply and fundamentally didn't understand the expanse.

I am increasingly convinced that we cannot afford to imagine a radical politics that fails to drastically tear down both the cultural and actual power of doctors.
this is astonishing. a surgeon is caught signing his initials into patients livers, blames other staff for whistleblowing it, then writes a novel about himself where his victim makes up being traumatised to ruin his career. his IRL victim (a woman ofc) is right to see it like rape. id feel raped too
