Huh. This must be the Wonder Woman/Blue Beetle team up, but I don't remember hearing about it.

The new Florence + The Machine single 'Everybody Scream' sounds like a lost track from Queen's 'Flash Gordon' soundtrack.

It would be such a shame if this building, which completely ruined the skyline of New York City, had to be pulled down. It would just break my heart, which is full of deeply motivated loathing for this building
Reading about this luxury apartment building that's falling apart after only ten years because the developer wanted a pure white building, a color only achieved by weakening the concrete. LOL what a fucking living metaphor.
432 Park Is Cracking Up
Developers wanted the supertall’s cement façade to be a pristine white. Turns out that’s not great for durability.

I'm enjoying #Task on @hbo.bsky.social, but I really need some back story on the mystical biker bar that has Richard & Linda Thompson on the jukebox.

I can confirm, having just paid $3 for (sigh) Howdy: CHINA BEACH is now streaming via Roku’s new subscription service. And it looks good! The Supremes song that’s the show’s theme—“Reflections”—has been replaced by a sound-alike, but at least this show is finally streaming.

NOW DO THIRTYSOMETHING
FIRST TIME STREAMING ALERT: One of streaming’s white whales, China Beach, is streaming for the first time ever exclusively on Roku’s new service Howdy.

This sucks in multiple ways, but the silver lining is I'm guessing he'll leave like Letterman did at NBC.

Lame duck Letterman was the best Letterman.

I love me a 4K disc with all the extras but the Criterion Channel is the thing I would have killed to have in my house when I was 16
Criterion — founded in 1984 — is courting a "new audience of cinephiles” via streaming.

And it’s working.

Criterion Channel “has grown steadily” — and created a "low-churn subscriber base” that has "eclipsed the company’s physical media business”.

How Criterion turned its film archives into a streaming powerhouse
The Criterion Channel refuses to employ Netflix-style algorithmic programming. That choice has courted a whole new audience of cinephiles.

I've gotten at least 3(!) notifications today with a reminder that it's a major no-no to include the EAS alert tone in news stories on-air.

So now I'm wondering... who used it to prompt the reminder? 🤔

A smart and evil man manipulated a stupid and evil man into a war against a fanatical and evil regime.
