What’s depressing is the silence about Iran on this site. ProPallies dressing up in keffiyehs & spewing racist hate in the safety of UK city streets & campuses don’t seem to give a sh*t about a people who are genuinely brave, fearless & willing to risk death for their freedom. Shameful & sickening.
If the figures we're getting out of Iran are in the right league, this weekend was, I think, one of the bloodiest state crackdowns of all time. People are talking 12,000-20,000 dead; for comparison Hungary in 1956 was about 2,500, Tiananmen - across country, in multiple cities - probably 1000+

Johnson tells the truth for once: Trumpers are leaving the brutal, corrupt and reviled Chavista/Maduro regime in place, abandoning the elected leaders of Venezuela, and giving the regime free rein to continue pillaging Venezuela and tormenting its people with US support, as long as Trump gets a cut.
