One thing that I have always admired about Dan — something that’s been particularly obvious this year — is his investment in the communities of which he’s a part. What a great idea this is. bsky.app/profile/dans...
Small-scale, fiercely independent journalism rarely gets recognition when awards are handed out, but it's vital in our communities—especially this year. So I made an award and am thrilled to announce @unraveledpress.com and @lataco.bsky.social as the inaugural winners. dansinker.com/posts/2025-1...

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

For months, we've sought details about the shadowy deal the Trump Admin made with the Salvadoran govt to imprison people in the notorious CECOT prison — where they faced torture & other human rights abuses.

Yesterday, I got the official who signed the deal to publicly admit it for the first time.

Please sit with this, people with/near levers of power. Kowtow to Trump in any capacity & you are at risk of something you should fear more than him. 🙂
Any university, law firm, corporation or other powerful entity that now bends the knee for Trump deserves to be scorned and boycotted.
He is deeply unpopular and will only grow more unpopular. Moreover his power is waning and his own coalition smells it and is fracturing.

@vanhollen.senate.gov really IS a mensch—and I won’t forget that kind of bravery. Neither should you.
Democratic leadership didn’t want to stick their necks out for him. The GOP didn’t want him even referred to as a “Maryland man.” Sen. Chris Van Hollen, his congressional representative fought for him. And we should never forget any of this. apnews.com/article/abre...

@durbin.senate.gov Any comment, Dick?
You can thank Tim Kaine, Angus King, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortes-Masto, Dick Durbin, John Fetterman, Jacky Rosen and Jeanne Shaheen for your loss of healthcare
Shaheen’s office just told me that nobody is fighting harder for the ACA subsidies than she is

And that the ACA subsidy vote outcome was not predictable

@quigley.house.gov should read this whole thread.
i mean, i think he's right that the impeachment process isn't gonna go anywhere but also i think he's fundamentally misreading the room

people aren't convinced democrats are fighting the high cost of living, corruption, or broken healthcare; they're not convinced democrats are fighting *at all*
Significant statement from Jeffries and House Democratic leaders saying they will vote “present” on the motion to table Al Green’s resolution to impeach President Trump. They say they’re “laser-focused on fighting to lower the high cost of living” plus on health care and corruption.

How much did the "Department of War" lose? 🤔
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

I know what she's doing. She's a grifter. One of the ways to undermine a grifter is to say their words back to them in a way that highlights that they are silly people saying incoherent things.

They don't care about being mean (they're into it) but they definitely care about seeming cool.
