Trying to think of other revolutionary products that consumers repeatedly had to be tricked into paying for rather than ones that consumers loved and demanded
Fascinating. Microsoft emailed me to say it was raising the price of Microsoft 365, but when i went to cancel it offered me me the old price — without all the AI bullshit.

It’s forcing AI on everyone and making them pay more for it, then only telling them they don’t have to if they try to cancel.

Found out my department is getting outsourced to India. Management asked me to keep it quiet, but I told all my staff instead. Chaos in the office, company has ground to a halt making essentially no money. Corporate overlords can go gargle my sweaty balls.

This sounds post-apocalyptic, but aspiring filmmakers and writers really should find and collect DVD commentaries.

So much applicable advice you’d never get in film school because it was discovered in the circumstances of making that movie.

Big cultural step backward to lose easy access to these.

He was in my city recently and he took time to stop by the juvenile detention center to talk to the kids and play basketball with them.

He's done his time and he works to use his celebrity to be a positive influence to the communities he visits.

He's more than earned a pardon.
Jelly Roll should be pardoned for his past robbery and drug possession convictions, the Tennessee Board of Parole unanimously determined on Tuesday. The decision now rests with Gov. Bill Lee.

Apparently, WB DVDs manufactured between 2006-08 are succumbing to laser rot. There's a post on this board that has compiled titles with reported issues, and per the article you can inquire about replacements for in-print movies.

Hundreds of your Warner Bros DVDs probably don't work anymore
Due to the way WB manufactured their DVDs, virtually all discs pressed between 2006-8 are unplayable now.

So... how is that Monster Hunter Wilds optimization going?

Not well. Apparently the final game runs even worse than the beta.

Please I beg you, stop buying garbage. There's no reason for a game that looks the way this does to run so poorly. Capcom doesn't deserve your money.

This isn't due to anything specific, but I do want to say;

If you are telling artists or creatives to make weirder and more unmarketable art, it is in fact your obligation and duty at that point to promote/pass around/support those creatives when they *do* make that weirder art. Otherwise we can't!

Just so I understand the discourse on this app correctly:

Elon is so proud to be a.fascist that he'll stand in front of thousands, at an event broadcast to millions globally and make a gesture that clearly signals he's a fascist, but won't actually say he is because he feels he needs to be subtle?

Streaming in 2025: our library is Batman movies and 28 seasons of a Tim Allen sitcom, it costs $159/month. We just destroyed the last piece of evidence that Mister Rogers ever existed
Scoop: Warner Bros. Discovery has quietly pulled "The West Wing" from its Max streamer as part of a cost-cutting move following a ROI evaluation. Details in @status.news: link.status.news/3C72V5Z
