What was it I was doing that made me forget what I was doing?
I was in Screwfix the other day, and the sales bod addressed me, not as “mate” or as “sir” (either would have been fine), but as “gent”.

As in “Is there anything else you need today, gent?”

Anyone else seen this in the wild?

Last year his estate donated the royalties for Last Christmas to his charity that offers funding for LGBTQIA+ orgs and they said they'd do it again this year. Listen to it loads!
Listening to Last Christmas because it is an all-time banger and George didn't die on Christmas Day for you to disrespect his memory by participating in Whamageddon

This year we're doing Whamutopia. Every time you hear Last Christmas you have to have a mulled wine at your earliest convenience and toast George Michael, because he was a lad

The famous cone on the Duke Of Wellington statue has been replaced with a pigeon reading a newspaper - and the pigeon has a tiny cone hat.

Started watching For All Mankind after quasi-recommendation from @gregjenner.bsky.social. Thought I might like it but that Mrs T wouldn’t be gripped.

I was wrong. It’s spectacular. Into Season 3 now…

Ozyman, Ozyman-
dias does what no mortal can
and his works? are they there?
no, but maybe still despair
This is just to say

I have looked on
the works
that were in
the desert

and which
you were probably
thinking
would still stand

Forgive me
they were trunkless
so vast
and so old
Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
