With a backroom deal, Carney has bulldozed Canada’s remaining #climate policies and ignited a firestorm among #Indigenous communities across the country.

It is a betrayal, for which future generations will pay.

People are rightfully freaking out about this, but also know this reverberates into K-12, esp independent schools. Much of my job as a high school librarian is preparing kids for college. And if college now means AI, it makes resistance to AI in education that much harder.
It’s been fun while it lasted: “Purdue University will begin requiring that all of its undergraduate students demonstrate basic competency in artificial intelligence starting with freshmen who enter the university in 2026.”

The surrounding land for kms on end is still built to run water directly into the area. The flooding is not simply resurrecting a temporary ghost of the past. The lake is still there. The water will always return.
BC folks: Ahhhh Abbotsford floods ALL the time what gives??

Me: It was called Sema:th Lake. Because the Sema:th lived there and told you it flooded every year, but you drained the lake to drive them off their land and to expose fertile farmland, then built a city WHERE THE LAKE SHOULD GO

Scrivener: I would prefer not to.
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)
