i refuse to watch dune 2 or any other movie that happens to feature the harkonnens. the harkonnens' value system is completely at odds with my beliefs. i see many of you have no trouble checking your principles at the door, though. good for you

Finland as usual has the solution to automated traffic enforcement. you assess the fines as a percentage of daily income, minimum of 6 euro but rich guys can get dinged into six figures
“it disproportionately impacts poor communities” is a policy problem, but it’s not a good argument for just doing away with a law entirely. nearly all laws disproportionately impact the poor, the solution isn’t “no laws”
