This is the largest known retrogressive thaw slump in the world (Yakutia)! 🧊🔥

It exposes a remarkable sequence of Ice Age permafrost that record interaction of colluvial/eolian/periglacial processes on a hillslope episodically forested during last 650 ka! 😲

A new mural has appeared in Ternopil, dedicated to children killed in Russia’s attack.

The artwork, showing a child shielding her toys from a Russian missile, was created by artist Andriy Yermolenko. He described it as “a cry for help to the global community.”

Man wäre so viel weiter.
Soziologe warnt: Wegen der Klimakrise droht der gesellschaftliche Zusammenbruch
Ökologische Krisen erschüttern die Grundlagen unseres Zusammenlebens, sagt der Soziologe Frank Adloff. Notwendig sei daher ein radikaler Systemwandel.

In der Ukraine gibt es Korruption. No shit, Sherlock.

Hitler was bad.

An essay that, you know, I didn’t think I’d need to write.
Perry: The pro-Hitler problem with the American right
"We need to get back to the basics: Hitler was bad. The people who suggest otherwise are also bad," David M. Perry writes.

Here are two powerful artworks. Mantegna's Lamentations of the Dead Christ and Canova's idealized Napoleon. One reveals human fragility. The other, manufactured grandeur. I try to explore how such artwork exposes the truth behind power. Have a read: open.substack.com/pub/johnrals...
