In any other White House, this WSJ article would be immediate cause for impeachment. With Trump just add it to the pile.

You have to be explicit when you flirt with me.

"This is flirting" is a good start

Otherwise I will assume you are just being nice.

Republicans have spent a decade talking about family values and government overreach, and now they want to legislate care for children away from their parents.

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with these people?

I will never forgive the people I know who voted for him. Never.

You might be thinking, "CPSC, does a dry Christmas tree really burn that much faster than a well-watered tree?"

Friend, let's find out together by watching this PSA.

Cis people really have no idea how it feels to watch a regime hold a press conference to admit, on camera, the pogrom against trans people they've been waging for 11 months is not only real, but they're going to double down on genocide and try to wipe out all the children first.

Someday this cruelty will be reversed for Rachel Levine. It will be covered as a touching moment, a "correction" of an injustice. People will expect her to be grateful. Fuck that. The expectation of easy forgiveness & the shaming of rage at injustice is what brings us back to this awful place

I don't have any illusions about the United States military, what it does, or how many times this has happened before

but the fact that they sat there for 41 minutes, watched two scared, human beings desperately struggling to stay alive, and then murdered them has fucked me up so deeply

I taught for 12 hours today, with an hour commute at the start and the same again home at hour 9 (last class was live but virtual), making it a 14-hr workday. So of course instead of sleeping, I am doomscrolling social media.

As one does.

It is a feature of the hellscape we currently inhabit that I read this headline & didn't even pause to consider if it was The Onion until I saw who they were "quoting".

Up until then?

Every year since 1988, the United States has recognized World AIDS Day — until now.

Why not? Maybe because the Trump administration doesn’t want to acknowledge that its foreign aid cuts led to nearly 150,000 deaths from AIDS, according to Boston University researchers.

Shameful.

Walmart employees? On SNAP. Junior US military personnel with families? On SNAP. Wherever workers are being underpaid, they are on SNAP.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

It's not serving anybody well to act like it's about pizza or wings, and not gutter racism.

Also, I am apparently one of the sound designer's favorites, as they emitted a literal involuntary "eeeep" upon seeing me, then tacklehugged me.
