As a term-limited, late-stage septuagenarian with underwater approval ratings, a razor-thin majority in the House, significant slip-ups mere months into office, a fractious coalition, and a midterm referendum on his tenure coming his way, Trump’s hold on power is more precarious than many believe.
Musk Might be the First Domino to Fall in Trump’s Unwieldy MAGA Coalition
Now that Trump has to govern, his massive political vulnerabilities are becoming apparent

This picture may haunt me to the end of my days.

It is an ICE agent taking an axe to the car window of an immigrant in New Bedford, MA. Not far from where I sit now. An immigrant with no criminal record was abducted by this smiling man.

An axe taken to a car window and to our democracy. 1/

We are against bribing voters (like what Musk is doing), and we are against making judicial elections into partisan battlegrounds. We oppose judicial elections in general on the grounds that it forces judges to adhere to political headwinds rather than rule of law.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court vote is getting national attention and millions from Musk
The court could face cases on abortion, congressional maps and labor unions. With Tesla suing the state, Elon Musk is backing the conservative candidate who's received President Trump's endorsement.

I learned 30 years ago (as a law clerk in D.Md.) Judge Luttig is a towering intellect.

I know that he is trying to “speak into existence” the triumph of the judiciary over Trump.

I know he’s right on the law.

The only thing I know *for certain* about the future is that it hasn’t happened yet.

If a law firm won't risk everything to defend itself, what makes you think it will risk anything to defend you?

My advice: Find a law firm that will not back down and will never bend a knee.

That inversion is a tactic meant to put anyone trying to stop said right-wing weaponization of the biases and values bedded in "AI" on the back foot.

Stop falling for it, keep fighting against it. Realize what we need to do and what's at stake.

Yeah I really need y'all to understand that the people currently in power fully know that you can weaponize the values & biases built into "AI" & other technologies, that they fully intend to do so, & that any carping about "bias against conservatives" is a deliberate inversion of their aims & deeds
This is (purposefully) just going to revoke the visas of anyone who said anything remotely pro Palestinian

Everything we were taught to fear about living under an authoritarian regime is happening right here, right now.
A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

2. Admin ppl on social media: Fuck yeah, defiance
3. Other admin ppl saw the headline, thought damn that might piss SCOTUS off guys
4. "Hey, don't put it in the paper that we didn't comply."
The headline of this Axios piece is… a bit confusing. Here’s what the story quotes two senior officials as saying …
