Everyone sat around talking about how these people were incredibly stupid and then they managed to successfully implement large swathes of the plan that they all told us they were going to execute and you really have to wonder who is the stupid in this equation

This happened a few years ago:

I must have fallen asleep a few times because I recall waking up after several strange dreams. They had to be dreams, right?

I mean, Mick Jagger wasn’t really in my room last night, trying to convince me that Thousand Island dressing counts as gravy.

Was he?

My Friday night? Swatching in double knit for a possible Christmas gift while watching "Commando Cody and the Radar Men from the Moon". You're jealous, right?

...Right??

Spouse went to the mall this afternoon and not only survived, but had the consideration to text and see if I wanted a peppermint bark shake from Häagen-Dazs. (Of course I did and it’s delicious!)

Hello, Senator Durbin, as a literal internationally-recognized expert on this, that is not what getting rid of Section 230 will achieve and the harms of platforms like Roblox are already illegal under existing laws.
Children are being exploited and abused because Big Tech consistently prioritizes profits over people.

Enough is enough. Time to sunset Section 230.

I took a nap today and woke up absolutely enraged. Incandescent with rage. I'd been dreaming that my phone was going off and I could not get it to stop. Noise wouldn't stop, volume wouldn't turn down. When I awoke, it was to the alarm I'd set on my phone. (I nearly yeeted the phone across the room.)

Yeah, KC didn't deserve to be in the playoffs last year, either. It'll be pretty quiet hereabouts for awhile, I suspect.

We moved here from western NY, so go, Bills! And we moved *there* from the Chicago area, so bear down, Bears!

Hey, y'all, I hate to burst your bubbles, but that "hooded crow snowboarding with green plate" video is generative AI

Here's the _REAL_ video of a snowboarding crow from 13+ years ago the fake is stealing from

I genuinely don't know if this is a "Minnesotan" thing or an "old guy of a certain age" thing but in case it's Minnesotan and people need an anger translator: this guy is so angry he could just about set something on fire with his mind.
This one isn’t downloadable but if you have TikTok go watch it. Well worth your time www.tiktok.com/t/ZTr4gRL7v/

Just saw an AI video of a crow sledding down a roof (A very real and documented behavior going back over a decade!) and I'm so pissed.

I hate that this slop forces you to scrutinize cool things that animals actually do!!

Another Kavanaugh Stop.
ICE detain U.S. citizen for looking Somali—use illegal chokehold to tackle him to ground.

Man repeatedly begs agents to look at his digital passport ID—they refuse.

Drove him 7 miles away before releasing him alone into Minnesota snow storm—told him to "walk home" in freezing weather advisory.

My Fairy Beefmother has struck again. A box of Portillo's Italian beef was delivered today with nothing in the gift message. This happens a few times a year. I have my suspicions as to the culprit, but no one will own up to it.

By a cruel quirk of scheduling, my annual check-in with my cardiologist falls after Thanksgiving and my birthday *and* smack in the middle of all the stress of Christmas.

Because the stress of existing in this time and place isn't enough, I guess.

Had a terrific time at Really Pleasant Gaming Weekend 2025. They ran more than 100 sessions over two and a half days. I maxed out my schedule with seven games, all on new-to-me platforms. Great game runners and engaged players mad for a fantastic time.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

I am doomed.

Son conquered the Linux conversion late last night. I told him we can get me settled in with it today as I didn't think 1AM was a particularly good time to expect much retention by my brain.

Son is converting my laptop from Windows 10 to Linux. He assures me I'll do fine.

Talking with Spouse and I realized that Roger Marshall and Trump form a weird sort of ouroubos where Trump's hand is up Marshall's ass like a puppet but Marshall's head is up Trump's ass.

Aside from all the truly whackadoodle stuff here... Hasn't Joliet Correctional been closed for years?
Yesterday, a Republican tried to give me holy water and Trump perfume because I’m “demonic.”

Extremely normal stuff coming from an extremely normal party.

Spouse was able to help with my post-op eye drops. I can't see well enough out of the eye to ensure getting drops into it, but the eye is fairly disturbingly bloody so he was unsure about helping. Hoping I can solo soon. One-day check was very good.

A whopping 29% of Americans support killing people with no cause (murder).
Only 29% of Americans support using the U.S. military to kill suspected drug traffickers without a judge or court being involved, a rebuke of President Donald Trump's strikes in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific Ocean, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found.
