Honestly impressed at Starmer and Nandy's commitment to not doing their job. This guy is literally talking about his wife, his children, her, and her children, and they do nothing!
CT explains why he thinks Shabana Mahmood is neither English, nor British, to which Cole does not respond to at all.

Cole: asks how many generations? Is it a race thing?
CT: Not race as Albanians don't count either. It is ancestry.
It is infinite generations, if you don't have the ancestry.

Are there any good explanations for why the ‘hard’ left didn’t get on Bluesky? Found myself mildly curious about what was going on at yorp conference and they’re all over talking about it on the bad site and seems like that’s where the discussion still is for those groups.

All the usual suspects dismissing the thousands of extra cyclists in London this week as “only because there’s a tube strike”. Oh so suddenly it is in fact possible for many people to change mode when it is made more convenient than the alternatives.

comparing their outputs thus far you wouldn’t think that Alison McGovern is the candidate that’s currently in the government and Lucy Powell is the one who’s just left it before running

V good read.

That co-leadership with Lutfur Rahman was even floated, alongside converting Aspire into a national party and flirting with welcoming George Galloway into the tent, tells you all you need to know.

Also, I’m not inherently against lesser evilism, but it’s really grating to hear the whole “you may not like it, but that’s the system we have” routine when Labour could literally just change the electoral system?

I spent the day with Curtis Yarvin and the "dissident right" at a garden party in Surrey and wrote quite a few words about it.

So much about this story is depressing to me, from the mad understanding of “how the development of racist thought works” from someone who once got this stuff and who should have been allowed a dignified exit, to the way v few official responses even bother to mention racism against GRT people.

Amid a lot of, frankly, nonsense about age verification to see erotic content and send DMs on Bluesky, this thread is very good. Not to alarm anyone, but your personal data is frankly only as secure as the least competent person you had to give it to in order to buy or rent the place you live!
I don't object to the principle of age verification, but I do very much object to uploading scans of my passport/my face/card details to some random third party.
Starting July 25, Bluesky will require users in the UK to scan their face, upload an ID or verify their identity with a bankcard.

I realize that platforms feel they have no choice but to comply with the government surveillance schemes, but shocking nonetheless.

Going back in time to get SV implemented for the 2025 mayorals so that someone has to run a campaign to get green and lab voters to put Tory #2 in Greater Lincolnshire

(three beers later) Here's to the kitchen thinkers. The M&S tinnie drinkers. The bathroom queue winkers. The champagne flute clinkers. Here's to the people that make this gathering, a party.

Second by-election in Sheffield since GE24 where the Lib Dems have come up from a distant place to knock us into third.

Would also note that the turnout is significantly *higher* than in the last local.
Stockbridge & Upper Don (Sheffield) Council By-Election Result:

➡️ RFM: 32.9% (New)
🔶 LDM: 29.3% (+12.1)
🌹 LAB: 24.4% (-25.2)
🌳 CON: 6.1% (-21.6)
🌍 GRN: 5.4% (-7.1)
⚪ Yorks: 1.1% (New)
🧑‍🔧 TUSC: 0.8% (-1.2)

❓The winter fuel rowback will be widely seen as one of the most significant U-turns of Starmer's premiership so far.

But it begs the question - will it be enough to prevent his biggest parliamentary rebellion yet in a few weeks time on welfare cuts?

Keir Starmer looks set to row back on cuts to winter fuel payments, in the most significant u-turn of his premiership so far, but is it enough to prevent his backbenches' biggest rebellion yet?
