It will 100% happen again. How do we know? Because the system we put in place that allows this to happen again and again and again, has not been fixed.

New powers for councils to enforce against pavement parking don't go far enough. Officials will be allowed to define what constitutes "unnecessary obstruction" when parking on the pavement, creating a postcode lottery.

In 2024, more than 1,600 people died on UK roads. Yet a major new road safety strategy has passed largely unnoticed. This reflects media acceptance of road danger and a societal complacency—an “it won’t happen to me” mindset. Sadly, it can, and by then it is too late. How do we change this?

It's great to see action starting against dangerous pavement parking. Now we need: A clear definition of what "unreasonable obstruction" means; Effective ways to enforce against obstructive and dangerous parking; Enforcement against pavements being broken by heavy vehicles.

📈 TESCO

In the past four years, food prices in the UK have rocketed by a staggering 40% – yet between 2020/21 and 2024/5 Tesco saw its operating profit balloon by almost three quarters (72%).

This sort of rampant profiteering is simply a disgrace, and it must be stopped.

The new Road Safety Strategy looks to reduce casualties by 65% by 2035. Wales reduced casualties on built-up roads by a huge 25% by implementing a default 20mph urban/village limit winning international road safety awards.
