New powers for councils to enforce against pavement parking don't go far enough. Officials will be allowed to define what constitutes "unnecessary obstruction" when parking on the pavement, creating a postcode lottery.

New powers for councils to enforce against pavement parking don't go far enough. Officials will be allowed to define what constitutes "unnecessary obstruction" when parking on the pavement, creating a postcode lottery.

I've just skim read the entire Road Safety Strategy and can't see a single thing about pavement parking, which is disappointing.

The new Road Safety Strategy looks to reduce casualties by 65% by 2035. Wales reduced casualties on built-up roads by a huge 25% by implementing a default 20mph urban/village limit winning international road safety awards.
