I don't normally get holiday specials, but I heard good things about this one—and, boy oh boy, were those praises warranted. Damn near started crying tears of joy while reading this on the bus. Such a perfect encapsulation of why I love Spider-Man *and* Christmas.
My Pick of the Week is Spider-Man: Holiday Spectacular #1!

The Marvel Universe can sometimes feel very large, but
@rainbowrowell.bsky.social and the rest of the team reminds us just how close these heroes really are.

Have they never read fucking DICKENS???
Amazing. Absolutely fucking amazing.

Let me get this straight. The protagonist in black has to play the role of the villain, allowing that the more acceptable beacon of hope to inspire change? Gonna start telling comic bros that THE DARK KNIGHT ripped off WICKED.

The more I work on comics, the more I appreciate just how important the letterer is.
Today's stacks from Alan Scott: Green Lantern #2 & #3 (probably one of my favorite single issues I've ever lettered). By T. Sheridan, C. Tormey & M. Herms.

Check out the density of these pages! I feel like the stacks are akin to sports heat maps, in showing what parts of a page are more used.

My life can be strange and wonderful sometimes. I'm currently chatting with one of my favourite authors ever... about why option two of this meme is clearly the correct choice.

I wrote to Alan, to ask if he minded if I use an element from one of these in Aphra and he called me up and said he has no memory of writing this, but sure.
197. In case you didn’t know, Alan Moore wrote some Star Wars comics in the 80s for a UK Star Wars magazine. It is clear from the content that he was not entirely sure what Star Wars is supposed to be. They’re awesome.

My problem is I don’t care.

I just don’t care

I do not and will not engage in a computer getting full rights before your average Black and Indigenous person or trans person

And I do not care if you think it’s a “good question”

I’m smarter than you and I will fight you about it
can’t fucking catch a breath

I'm great with deadlines too. While it's not exactly the same as a monthly comic's schedule, I've been writing scripts for a narrative horror podcast called GHOST MAPS over the last couple of years. New episodes come out twice a month.
