Bad framing: ACIP voted to scrap the universal hepatitis B vaccine recommendation for newborns.

Accurate framing: Anti-vax conspiracy theorists appointed to ACIP by Robert Kennedy Jr., who made a fortune as an anti-vax profiteer, voted to expose babies to a preventable, incurable, deadly illness.

And she covered Trump's campaign while her lover was negotiating for a role in his administration!
The details are gross both aesthetically and morally, but Nuzzi played a consequential role in the ending of a sitting president’s re-election bid. Even if you don’t include her role in RFK then getting DHHS, that alone is worth discussing
this is the most consequential journalism scandal since Stephen Glass and this is a website with a lot of journalists on it! I am absolutely going to continue posting about it, sorry. Feel free to block or unfollow me if this bothers you!

Imho it's a performance of the idea of masculine genius, they want people to think they are so smart and so focused on their work that they don't have time to wear a suit that fits or brush their hair
i kind of hate how much these guys can’t be bothered to dress themselves well or even visibly take care of themselves

the elevation of “separation of powers” as the paramount value of the constitution is just rhetorical justification for presidential dictatorship, since that is what you have when the legislative branch cannot constrain the exercise of executive power through law.
In her dissent, Judge Pan says the emerging view of executive power by Trump and his backers in the courts "concentrates excessive power in the President and thus paves the way to autocracy." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

anyway this isn’t a legally difficult question it is a politically difficult question for the conservative majority and the only thing we’re waiting to see is if they will ignore political pressure and follow the clear text of the constitution or bend to the president’s demands.

cool that the official position of the administration appears to be that black people don’t really count as americans
"The Donald Trump administration has changed which holidays qualify for free entrance to national parks, removing two holidays celebrating Black people and adding the president’s birthday."
National parks change prioritizes Trump birthday over days honoring Black people
Free entrance days at national parks no longer include MLK Day and Juneteenth.

TOM COTTON: The premise of your question is not well-founded

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

I don't have any illusions about the United States military, what it does, or how many times this has happened before

but the fact that they sat there for 41 minutes, watched two scared, human beings desperately struggling to stay alive, and then murdered them has fucked me up so deeply

Pretty notable, in my view, that Kagan points out the Supreme Court's pro-gerrymandering decision in Texas is a step-by-step instruction manual for states to draw discriminatory maps while ducking judicial review, and the majority has...nothing to say in response www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

Sounds like they have legalized racial gerrymandering so long as non-whites won’t vote for republicans.

Simply amazing that the Supreme Court declared an end to legal race discrimination in the affirmative action case two years ago and now allows overt racism in both immigration arrests and redistricting.

Using race to help minorities? Bad. Using it to discriminate against them? Very, very good.

As Kagan notes, SCOTUS has given states a cheat code to enact illegally racist voting laws: just pass them close enough to an election that the Purcell principle will bar judicial review!

Under this logic, courts couldn’t block actual Jim Crow laws within a year of an election. It can’t be right.

The fact that both the unsigned 6–3 majority opinion and Alito's concurrence (for Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch) open with a reference to California's redistricting leaves one with the strong impression that this decision, like California's, is about tit for tat.

why on Earth would I presume that?! what on Earth does it take to overcome that presumption?!

This exemplifies how big media like the nyt skewed the facts to serve their bias.

“In contrast to the Cass Report and Trump’s HHS document, no national mainstream media organizations have run stories on the Utah evidence review ... “
An inependent review of medical evidence on trans youth healthcare found substantial evidence of benefit, and no evidence of harm.

This was one of our top stories this year. Legacy news, who extensively covered a review finding the opposite, ignored this.
