Word is, the NPWS makes it virtually impossible to get a permit for native red squirrel reintro projects.

Yet alien invasive species like pheasants, rhodo, sitka, need no permit at all, while others (eg sika deer) are *protected*.

Ireland is *SO* ecologically backwards. 🌎
