Really happy to publish this work at my current job that's in direct conversation with all my work I did on my old beat.

Turning over military decisions to AI is dangerous. Militaries will keep doing it.How can policy mandate that the AI follow laws of war? By hard-coding doubt, maybe!
As militaries develop and deploy AI systems, they create the possibility of machines asserting power over life and death, without regard for the laws of war and the vital doubt and restraint they require. But what if that "doubt protocol" could be coded in internationalpolicy.org/publications...
Can Complimentary Learning Methods Teach AI the Laws of War? - CIP
Training AI models on edge cases of war offers the possibility of hard-coding compliance with laws or war, or at least necessary doubts.

Felony murder statutes are good in basic concept (if you choose to participate in a crime that reasonably creates a risk that someone is going to die, you're as guilty of murder as the person who pulled the trigger) but insane in many applications
Ooh, @lastweektonight.com did a whole thing on Felony Murder last night.

Didn't mention my book chapter on the matter. :( But still, I happy to remind you that these laws are shitty and need to be repealed.

A GREAT explainer.
Plus, even upper middle wage earners are averse to all these tax-advantaged things. A seriously hard sell.
Sorry, progressives & health care policy wonks. But we're going to have to re-remind everyone why Health Savings Accts are a tax shelter for the wealthy, not health insurance. Note distribution of premium tax credits vs. HSA contributions.

I really wonder what's up with "and btw we decided to kill the hemp industry that's worth 12 figures of annual revenue nationally." Rand Paul might not be the only person mad about it, there is a LOT of local money to throw at representatives
Massie is a guaranteed no, which means the R's can lose all of like 2 votes in the house, which is always math in that caucus of frothing howler monkeys that can be problematic.
