One of our cats has decided he has a blood feud with a cheese wrapper he fished out of the trash. This is not a problem.
The problem is he has decided, no matter how far away I move the wrapper, and show him where it is, the only place he can enact revenge is in the room where *I'm Trying To Work*!

This is also the thing at play when people simultaneously a) ask why more PoC journalists (or any other job, tbh) don't carefully, respectfully, civilly explain other PoC's concerns, And Also b) tell them they can't talk about race because they're "too close to it."
I’ll point out that this is one of the many faces of white supremacy&the reason that term is not hyperbole.This is the standard it sets.You can deploy racist tropes if you’re an old white man (or explaining their racism away) but you may not speak of race/racism if you’re on the receiving end.
