there is a very good book about transatlantic exchange of fascist, eugenicist and racist ideas in the early 20th century and how those ideas shaped the nazi government in its early years. this has been transformed in popular understanding to "the nazis copied jim crow"
If you’ve heard the “the Nazis got their ideas from the US segregationists” I beg you to please stop. This is both false and it minimizes historical European antisemitism in a misguided attempt to emphasize the nature of US anti-Black racism.

It’s horrific without comparison to Nazism.
May I politely encourage you to reconsider this framing. It is inaccurately stated and suggests consistent and strong linkages that do not exist.

The Nazis did not “get their ideas” from confederate laws. Antisemitism and anti-Jewish laws existed in Europe long before the Confederacy…

Tech is obsessed with the mass adoption of their product so later they can jack up the prices, but ubiquity has yet to correlate to profits (Lyft, Spotify,Tesla). They’re able to prolong this gambit by promising future innovations’ ability to create profitability, but that remains to be seen.

The reason why companies are more enamored with AI as opposed to other tech trends (NFTs, crypto, the Metaverse) is due to the users ability to opt out of those scams. Because of the forced integration of AI into all manner of systems and software users are required to interact with it to a degree.

Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Here’s the thing about settling to keep the government grant $ flowing: this administration is actively trying to destroy state capacity to fund research at anything close to its current scale. If they’re successful, the entire model of the research university is dead.
Who is supporting these settlements? It’s generally not faculty or even long-time university administrators, it’s university boards and interim administrators who they’ve installed after admins with more of a fighting instinct have been forced out. There’s a playbook here.
@mbkplus.bsky.social and I will have more thoughts on the podcast, but it's no coincidence that the two most draconian settlements were signed by *interim* university presidents.

I see some responses here from yt people saying that so and so are “just as American as me.” And, while I appreciate that sentiment probably comes from a good place, I’d like to gently suggest changing your own orientation so that you recognize YOU do not represent the standard of “Americanness”
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

When people say "AI" with no further specification, 99% of the time the obvious implication is they're referring to LLMs and image, video and audio generators.

Replying "yet you play single-player videogames and use spam filters" to anyone saying they dislike AI is a deliberately obtuse misreading.

So a big part of the Project 2025 goals hinges on forcing women out of the workforce. The Heritage Foundation knows that women voters hold the most power in terms of sheer numbers. If they can push you out of the workforce, they can push you out of your voting rights.
Digging into the data of what's taking place with Black women unemployment and this graph is pretty damning.

You can see the EXACT month Black women's unemployment begins to splinter and that what hit us FIRST is now coming for all other women. This is #TheDoubleTax.
