I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.

Sometimes when writing I have an entire piece come to me, full-blown. And I wonder, “Did I just receive a gift out of the aether or am I remembering a story from my youth and am now plagiarizing it?”

Humans can attribute thoughts, feelings, desires, and a backstory onto a rock with googly eyes or three knots in plywood that resemble a face.
As a species, we're really not equipped to deal with LLM's.

A major danger of LLMs is that humans are SO predisposed to attribute knowledge to any entity that uses natural language fluently. We cannot imagine that a machine that outputs natural-seeming speech/text doesn't have cognition. Brilliantly articulated by @emilymbender.bsky.social et al. (2021).
