You know I love a cute intro post on a new social and it’s finally time for that here!

Hi! I’m Katie! I used to be a repro rights organizer and policy researcher. These days I’m working toward a PhD and studying abortion politics in Kansas.
Hi I’m fiberglass shower install flipping off the back of my grandpa’s trailer on I-35 after he said one strap was enough.

I was 6 in the car with my dad following behind. We actually hate that grandpa now.

We're in a great place in society when Doctors Without Borders are being labeled as "terrorists" for trying to aid a population under genocide, and media just nods along in agreement.
Israel says it will suspend several humanitarian groups, including Doctors Without Borders, in 2026 for failing its new vetting rules for groups working in Gaza. Some international organizations have said that Israel’s rules are arbitrary and could endanger staff.

As of this morning 4,500 Starbucks workers are on strike. Don’t cross their picket line.

No Starbucks. NO Starbucks gift cards!
JUST IN: This morning, hundreds of baristas have joined our national ULP strike.

☕ The solidarity is strong: For every one barista on strike, dozens more allies have shown up in force to back our cause.

Our strike continues to grow in strength and power! #NoContractNoCoffee
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

What if we didn’t do this and instead - hear me out - actually respected our students as inquiring minds.

There are going to be more stories like this than we will ever hear about. Each person deserved the world, and we let them die.
NEW:

In 2024, Tierra Walker was sick and getting sicker. She was also pregnant.

She knew abortion was illegal in Texas, but thought there was an exception for women like her, whose health was at risk. Doctors told her there was no emergency.

Then she died.

Walker is one of several women ProPublica found with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.

How does one invest in left-wing media without a far-right billionaire coming along in a few years, buying said media, and remodeling it in his own image?

That seems to be a recurring problem.
