I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

A great new episode from @olddogua.bsky.social . Though Trump might go weak at the knees about Russian power, the Russians are actually on the defensive in many areas. Ukraine definitely has some cards to play.

Two legal opinions prepared by international lawyers contradict Belgium's claim it could be on the hook to pay substantial damages if the EU moves ahead with plans to use Russia's frozen assets to help Ukraine.
Legal opinions contradict Belgium’s claims over Russian assets
Belgium would not be on the hook to pay damages to Moscow as it would be near impossible for Russia to find a jurisdiction that would hear and enforce the case, the lawyers argue.

This is accurate. Russia has succeeded very well in convincing media in Europe and the UK that the conflict is far more one-sided in Russia’s favour than is genuinely the case - and that contributes to the assumption that it should be settled in Russia’s favour sooner rather than later.
One of the frustrating aspects of Trump's 'peace' efforts is that he resides in an echo chamber that doesn't acknowledge the real difficulties that Russia is facing in continuing its war in Ukraine - and it is an echo chamber that influences media coverage, judging by the questions that I get asked!
Time is not working for Russia, and things will only get worse.

“Putin is very likely preparing to attempt to offset Russia’s near-exhaustion of voluntary recruitment in 2026 by mobilizing elements of Russia’s strategic reserve to sustain combat operations in Ukraine.”

🇪🇺 The EU is insisting on accelerating the creation of a Special Tribunal to prosecute Russian crimes.

🔹There must be full accountability for Russia's crimes in Ukraine.

🔹Next week will be a very important milestone: the EU plans to join the creation of a "tribunal for Putin."

2/ And one of the (MANY) things that makes this so egregious is that it puts Americans at risk- if we don't abide by the Geneva Conventions why should we expect our enemies to treat our pilots who eject or shipwrecked sailors by those same rules?

If true, this is a war crime. And anyone, from Pete Hegseth to senior military staff, who authorized a war crime should be held accountable.

If a naval vessel is sunk, survivors are "protected persons" per the Geneva convention, like a pilot who ejects after being shot down.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

True. But this theater is getting tiresome, and I am not sure it's working for Europe. Perhaps it's time to make it clear to Trump that there are no negotiations instead of leading him to think that there are—and in the process fooling a lot of Europeans into believing that peace is close.
What folks need to realize about "peace talks" is that this is all theater for Washington. Ukraine knows that Russia has no intention of stopping the war, and the Russians know the Ukrainians know that. So this is just all a performance for Trump, hoping he blames the other for the lack of peace.
