This is possibly the most significant attack on trans rights in this country yet, and I can count the number of posts on my timeline about this on my hands.

If you're trying to dismiss this thinking "It'll die in the senate," DON'T! Sound the alarms now!
Bluesky tonight is neatly divided between trans people and family members appropriately angry and freaking out and everyone else who has barely noticed.

all the articles you read about this will say it "would charge doctors" but there is nothing in the bill limiting the felony crime to medical providers. you could write "would charge parents" and be just as correct. news outlets downplay it because news outlets are transphobic.

TOMORROW!

Call your representative! I know there was disappointing news today, but this bill has a higher chance of passing the Senate because it's watered down. Let's double our efforts and kill it in the House, then we'll deal with the threat in the Senate.
1. Another anti-trans bill has now been added to the congressional calendar this week.

Following MTG's total felony trans youth care ban, Dan Crenshaw's Medicaid trans youth ban will be heard.

Though it is unlikely to get through the Senate, it will be a major posturing vote for congressmembers.
Dan Crenshaw's Trans Youth Medicaid Ban Added To This Week's Congressional Calendar
The bill from Republican Dan Crenshaw was announced to come on the same day as Marjorie Taylor Greene's felony trans youth healthcare ban.

We can't have healthcare but we can have.... *checks notes*

Body cavity searches for minors in custody..... and holding them indefinitely.

Do I have to say it or do yall get it yet?
BREAKING: The House of Representatives just passed a bill that would subject immigrant children to invasive bodily searches and keep them in detention instead of releasing them to their families.

The Senate must vote no on this horrific bill.

I really want to emphasize that this is a winnable fight, but everyone has to chip in in order to do so! Please dont sit it out expecting others to stand in your place!

And dont ignore local/state level stuff! As these state laws get overturned, the narrative behind the Fed ones lose steam!

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

while KOSA passed the subcommittee, there is still the full committee meeting it needs to go through before being voted on by the Senate/House

support is more split on it than you'd think, we just need to pull away enough votes to block it. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!

To ensure safety, trustworthiness, and non-discrimination, Congress must pass the AI Civil Rights Act.
