Beyond mere errors, I think a scary number of people cannot get their heads around the idea that anyone would or could publish an entire, polished book full of lies. But they do.
Fun fact: almost no trade nonfiction books are fact-checked. Unless the author is a rare one who wants to (and can) pay for it out-of-pocket, your favorite books hit the presses full of whatever errors the author may have made. And everyone makes some.

"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

I'm late to Pluribus but I've seen 6 now and my gosh. Staggeringly well-made, pleasurable television. I'm slightly bewildered by the people who find it slow; I've been mesmerized. Feels like it says something new about the seductiveness of giving in/up and who's cut out for the misery of resistance.

This is how they're treating the women who are then able to speak about it.

Every time this is ignored they are emboldened, and I cannot imagine how they must be treating those who they know cannot speak out.

Machine learning / AI has legit research applications. But at the level of writing instruction (a *core* intellectual and communicative skill) it is almost uniformly useless, counterproductive, and destructive. It drives me insane that I have to worry about this every day now as part of my job.

“Who’s gonna stop you for that” is Trump’s key political insight
Newly discovered recordings show how far Donald Trump went to attempt overturning the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

Trump told the Speaker he could call the session “for transparency, and to uncover fraud,” adding, “Who’s gonna stop you for that?” trib.al/Yk7Lyb5

Celiac disease rather famously existed in the 1920's, when an all-banana diet was prescribed as a treatment. (The treatment worked because if you're eating nothing but bananas you're not eating gluten.)
