Finally watching the first season of Slow Horses. Hubs is not a fan…but then he doesn’t like mystery or thrillers the way I do.

#nowwatching Die Hard from this bluray box set which has the first four movies (so ya know, all the good ones).

I'm not sure this would qualify as a comfort movie for most people but it does for me 😂 #filmsky 🎥

Today's pick was from yesterday's marathon. Saved this one to talk about by itself.

Alien: Resurrection (1997)

A favorite midnight movie of mine. Not good, per se, but amazing. Alien-human hybrids, pervy scientists, Ron Pearlman is there. Sigourney Weaver crawls around on the ground.
Movie magic.

you know, the original SPACE JAM was not some kind of masterpiece — it wasn’t even particularly good — but it feels like SEVEN SAMURAI compared to the sequel (watching it with my kids right now)

Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same

Two and a half centuries ago, a handful of farmers and printers and philosophers looked across an ocean at the most powerful man in the world — and said no to a king.

Today, in town and cities across America, we again say No Kings.

here are the costs associated with the Oracle database, in case anyone doesn't know. the costs can go up further depending on other options 😅 this is why you need to stick with opensource databases such as pgsql 🥰 the amount of freedom FLOSS brings to individuals & small businesses is unmeasurable

There's a sick linenoise article by @there.is.no.aarch64.mov in @phrack.org 71 called "Learning An ISA By Force Of Will", where ixi goes from unknown binary blob, to manual instruction decoding, to figuring out control flow, and gives a critique of the RE'd ISA.

In 2016, Ghislaine Maxwell falsely stated, under oath, that she was not aware that Jeffrey Epstein recruited underage girls for sex (you know, the ones she was actually recruiting on his behalf). She was charged with two counts of perjury for this.

Remind me why we give a shit what she says now?
