One of my favourite things is that people who eat Ice Cream on average once per week have lower all cause mortality rates, several studies have had the same outcome, but the reason you never see that anywhere is no one wants to be seen to be the person saying Ice Cream has health benefits

Primary schools seem to be buying professionally-written nativity shows these days, which come as a package with the music for original songs. They're great and catchy, but goddamn it, I miss Come And Join The Celebration. Absolute top tier banger, that.

I feel like it's probably quite an achievement to be in the tip 0.08% of listeners for a band as big as the Beatles but that's what happens when you have a kid with a special interest. Bearing in mind, this doesn't include the time she spent listening to them on her Yoto.

I am both embarrassed at how much I wang on about my kids (but they are excellent humans and I'm proud of them!) and pleased at how many positive adjectives I use. Feels like a good sign.

I don't have one for my current career because if anything, people think I'm cooler than I am, but when I was a teacher, it was, "I bet you love those long holidays and knocking off at 3pm, don't you?" 🙄
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!
