Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"

Quote posting to remind everyone of the aurora borealis one year ago today.

10 October
Brighton, Hastings
Hove beach at low tide, streaks of sea foam on the sand making it look as if the silvery sea is a multi tentacled creature reaching out for the camera. Overhead the sun shines over the top of a massive grey cloud. Selfie of me in purple hat and jacket sitting in some long grass An old paved pathway furnished with a Narnia style lamp post heads down hill between the backs of some houses and the plant filled grounds of a square towered church Pink and purple aurora borealis over West Hill Hastings

Of course when I actually get around to writing a shopping list, I don’t need to look at it when I’m in the shop. It’s as if the act of writing it down is enough to cement it in my brain.

I haven't specifically written anything new, but given that it's #WorldMentalHealthDay I thought it was worth sharing the blog entries I have written about mental health and related issues over the past few years.

If you want an insight into the neurotypicality of this household, please bear in mind that Sprog1 and other I have never discussed cutlery preferences. But…
Me: There are no spoons in the drawer.
Mattie: No, there’s one.
Me: Yeah, but that’s the bad spoon.
Mattie: What?
Sprog1: THE EVIL SPOON.

One thing our culture seems amazing at is giving huge amounts of money to people who don’t need it, and very little to people who do.

Nothing wrong with self publishing of course.

My grandad use to self-publish his own wine.

Got the final proof copy of new novel (right) to check and then it will be all go.

Self publish this time - previous one (left) was on Unbound.
Two novels by Chris Limb: Comeback and Ghostdance. Similarly designed covers the former mainly red and the latter mainly purple.

Good idea. I just did a search for unread and discovered it was “having difficult fetching messages from the server” which probably explains it.

The problem with taking diazepam to calm down is that when it wears off there's a temporary bounce into greater anxiety.

Phantom unread email is making me jumpy. I can't see it but that "1" next to the inbox icon remains; mocking me.

Trying to work out where I went wrong and have got it back to 1987 (but suspect it may be earlier).

That's a good point - hadn't occurred to me but is obvious now you've said it! Back in the day they'd be the only obvious landmarks.

Strange how old maps seemed obsessed with indicating whether churches had spires, towers or neither.

(I say "old" maps but maybe the modern ordnance survey maps still do the same.)

Only just noticed that the people inside the train (including the driver) have been drawn too small. As if the illustrator didn’t realise that tube trains were smaller than regular trains.

This has a similar vibe or aesthetic, is from a similar time and was also a childhood obsession of mine. (Tube obsession sprung from Victoria Line obsession as that was the first line I came across.)

“Enjoy hot or cold” on food packaging flusters me. But which is correct? Which should I do?

'A near-complete skeleton found on Dorset's Jurassic coast has been identified as a new species of ichthyosaur, a type of prehistoric marine reptile that once ruled the oceans.'
Fossil found on UK coast is unique 'sword dragon' species
Scientists say the newly discovered species of marine reptile probably met a grisly end.
