Interestingly when I asked economists in Poland to explain their growth - so different issue - they weren't wholly sure what lay behind this or whether it was mostly catch-up.

nah. layla's name can be pronounced in two ways (lay-luh and lie-luh). I went for the former pronunciation but I often catch people saying the latter and I am not mad since it's technically correct.

Anyway, best case, this dude is just saying a lot of ridiculous hype words to string along & rip-off some ignorant VC companies, in which case, good on him, but he's gotta lay low enough that domain specialists don't catch him out at it & expose him online. He can't be so flagrant with the finesse.
