#INHERITANCES
People expecting inheritances from boomer parents need to brace themselves for some industry or service to pop up soon that will syphon off all their money before they die.

I’m working class mate. We don’t expect inheritances. Quite the reverse in fact. We generally have to give up work to look after our parents because we can’t afford care.

‘Freud knew that the family was the ultimate ghost story, a tendency reflected in the narratives that have become attached to ghost sightings, which often concern disputed inheritances, dynastic continuity or betrayed love.’

Am I a maximalist? Yes. But I’m not an over consumer.

My house is full of trinkets from adventures and inheritances and legos.

I’m just grumpy today.
Apparently they’re glass.

Can’t wait to see them at the thrift in a few months.
Excited to see those Stabucks Bear cups melt in your dishwashers.

People expecting inheritances from boomer parents need to buck their ideas up and learn to be independent.

two of my favorites are the clarifying language saying non-citizens can’t vote (already federal law) and banning taxes on inheritances (texas doesn’t have an inheritance tax). like genuinely what are we even doing 😭

meanwhile texans approve constitutional amendments to ban taxes on capital gains, inheritances, and to require denial of bail on "certain" felonies.

I think most people agree we need to Tax the Rich!

Read this book to better understand why & how.
TL;DR: 1) tax inheritances & gifts as income; 2) reform philanthropy by enforcing payout rules; 3) limit charitable tax benefits of capital gains — ie align rules so same applies to wealth as income

The boob window makes her aerodynamic to get good inheritances. I will add u tomorrow I'm eepy tired now

The USA should pass an
"Oligarchy Prevention Act."
Our Founders banned
hereditary titles 'cause
they didn't want a permanent
aristocracy here.
Cap all familial wealth &
tax the rest.
Cap all inheritances too.
Let those nepo babies
live by the fine principle:
Meritocracy.

Two options.

1. Abolish it completely and send them to a remote part of the remaining colonial outposts (Tristan de Cunha seems like the right choice to me)
2. Strip them of their Royal lands and inheritances and then turn them into a bicycle monarchy as they’ve done across Europe

A few that might end up smaller as a consequence.
What was she thinking? Mischief making from beyond the grave.
And how have their various disappointments about the paltry inheritances, to those that received them, been so swiftly forgotten. Sure to be re-aired over castle dinners?

I am loving the Labour Party's proposed policies, announced today.Capital Gains Tax is well overdue and it will not affect the family home or inheritances. About time greedy property speculators & landlords in NZ were taxed on their enormous profits!!!

To be able to lie cheat and steal his way through life thanks to inheritances and stolen fortunes

The only money from horrible rich people that doesn’t come with strings attached is simple inheritances. All other “gifts” of money - especially under the table - comes with an implicit “some day I will ask you to return the favour” Sopranos hijinks

im sure i've talked about this before but even among ppl i went to school with who have six figure tech jobs, the only ones able to buy a house had to have major WASP inheritances hit in order to afford to go in on one w others. and those are the only people planning to have kids, too.

This country was built on the attempted genocide of Native Indigenous Indians by predominately white men.

like gwyn and vendrick and lothric are not complicating their inheritances by having half a dozen husbands and wives at the same time.

Happy to slap a 15% GST on the poorest people in Australia and here they are on their moral high horses 😢
The economic sensible Indis born into generational wealth , trusts and inheritances and tax avoidance expressing their outrage over a Parliamentary sporting club .

A forgiven ratio of 3 to 4:
cups to saucers, matching
tea service rescued from late
19th century Prussian aggression

The desire to roam the world,
remain independent & amongst
like minded people, the will
to persevere what is unforgiven

These are the inheritances I
assume & go forward with

Yup. Might change how they see their memaw and pawpaw and thereby, their own inheritances and mediocrity. Can’t have that.

Let's play "spot the demographics with recent massive mortgages" and "who has inheritances coming up"
🚨 NEW: Australians are split on whether house prices should increase, stay the same, or decrease 🏡

A majority of young people want house prices to DECREASE, while more from all other demographics want an increase or no change

ive lived in this lexington neighborhood since 2009 and STILL couldnt confidently tell you the names of either adjacent street...

crystal's mother had conversations with silverware...

if our mental inheritances hold true then our household is gon be a fkn hoot in another 10 years 😂
moms was the one with dementia... she passed this month last year at 96. remembered adult me only in glimpses... mostly when she spoke of me i was always a kid in the car with daddy on our way to come pick her up. dementia is my inheritance; im now the age she was when her memory loss was anecdotal.
